I’m on a quest to find the perfect foundation. As our skin continues to change, we need to change our cosmetics along with it. My skin is much drier than it was before going through menopause. Which isn’t a bad thing. I rather slather on the moisturizer than continually wipe away the grease and shine all day. But it does mean that some things just need to change.
I want something that looks natural, isn’t cakey or drying doesn’t accentuate my pores but provides great coverage. Is that asking too much?
For years, I’ve used a moisturizing tint and a light foundation — both drugstore brands. And they worked beautifully. But then the moisturizer brand axed the tinted product, and the performance of the foundation started to diminish.
My daughter uses Glossier products and continues to rave about them. So, at her urging, I tried the Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint. And guess what? My quest might be over.
It’s just a tint, but I feel like it gives me enough coverage so that my skin shows through, but it evens out my skin tone without looking like I have a layer of makeup on. Note, I do fill in with a little concealer in problem areas, like when I have dark circles or some redness. But it all blends in nicely.
I’m still going to keep looking and experimenting, but for now, I’m very satified.
