Yes, it is spring. And that means lots of events to attend from graduations, showers, birthday parties and charity events. I love helping women find just the right thing….and the good news is that currently there’s a dress for every occasion. But I do get asked over and over again, "What to wear in case it’s cold or to cover my shoulders?" I just recently heard a pashmina wrap adds ten years, and I couldn’t agree more. So, let’s say goodbye cardigans and pashmina wraps and give one of these more stylish alternatives a try.
1. A blazer. Consider layering it over a slip dress or a statement skirt. It looks best if it’s a double-breasted style. You can drape it over your shoulders for a little glamour.
2. A duster. Inspired by my daughter, I’ve wanted one since she wore to all her sorority events layered over her black dresses. Try one in a pretty color. The key is a flowy one that is lightweight.
3. A Kimono. These come in many different patterns and different lengths. Find one you love and any simple dress can be worn under. It makes for a very old-school glamorous look.
4. A leather jacket. Consider pretty colors instead of a go-to black one. But black will work too. A leather jacket works every time over most dresses and adds a little edge.
