So, a few weeks back I told you I discovered what I want in order to navigate my next chapter: to be fit, to be stylish, to be vibrant, to travel and to give back.
I know. It’s a lot.
But now that I’ve defined my lofty goals, I really feel like the pieces are coming together.
Actually, you know what I feel like? I feel like that episode of the Brady Bunch where Marcia gives shy, meek, and unconfident Molly an overhaul. Remember that one? Molly walked around with a book on her head.
Yes, for the past several weeks, I’ve been walking around with the proverbial book on my head. And I’m starting to stand tall.
And with that, I’m excited to announce a new column about other women doing just the same. It’s called Sister to Sister. It’s a conversation with our peers, or "sisters" if you will, where they tell us how they’re navigating their next chapter. And it kicks off with one of my dearest friends, the oh-so-lovely and talented Judi Powers.
In addition, it’s come to my attention that you all love fashion and love to shop. Ask and you shall receive. Susie has been busy curating outfits that you’re going to love, and we’re now including them at the end of each newsletter — along with links to buy.
Please note: we are using affiliate links — because we got to make a nickel here and there — but this does not at all influence the pieces that Susie picks to feature, nor does it cost you a dime.
Sister to Sister
Like many of us, 9/11 activated Judi to rethink her life’s purpose. But unlike many of us, she took it a step – or shall we say “a leap” – further.
Travel with Purpose
I think it’s safe to say that many of us have an urge to travel that will some way have an impactful component associated with it. However, before you jump on the bandwagon, it’s important to thoroughly research how to do it responsibly and impactfully. Shannon O’Donnell has been traveling with a purpose since 2008. Her blog, A Little Adrift offers insightful information and resources to help you set your course.

A few newsletters ago, I told you I was going to try Rent the Runway, and I did. I got my first shipment and fell in love with this skirt. It is so beautiful on. And I think I can buy it from RTR at a discount. I’ll let you know. (Nordstrom)
