You can lead Jennifer to water, but you can’t make her drink, especially plain old water. Water is so boring. But water with some flavor is delightful. And now that detox waters are the rage, Jennifer is drinking water like crazy. And she feels cleansed.

However, the claims behind "detox" water recipes don’t really hold…well…water. The reason behind that oh-so-clean feeling isn’t because of what we put in the water, it’s the water itself. The extra additives just make us drink more. Joy Dubost, R.D., a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics says, “The best way to clean out your system is by drinking plenty of water and getting enough fiber to keep your digestive system regular.”
